What a year for Fritz Kalkbrenner… His fabulous debut album “Here Today Gone Tomorrow” still travels between music lovers and made it to the final 5 for the critics choice categorie of the german music award “Echo”. With this third single of his longplayer “Right In The Dark” we wanted to get the focus back on Fritz’ amazing voice… not only because the remixers love to work with it, but to set the mood right for summer.
Talking about remixers – we got no others than Henrik Schwarz and Robag Wruhme on board to give us their interpretation. What a happy day!
On A1 we find the original version (as always on SUOL)… nothing more, nothing less. Soulfull electronic music at its best!
A2 is reserved for Robag Wruhme. His amazing album on Pampa earlier this year is not the only reason we wanted him for this. Also the “back in the days” Wighnomy Brothers stuff showed his skills with vocals more than once. This one is perfect for the floor. Great groove, great sound and great vocals.
Henrik Schwarz is one of our all time favourites so we are very happy he took the time to work on this. On B1 he takes it all the way. Building up a mind bottling atmosphere that will tear every floor apart. You have to be patient if you are waiting for the 4/4 kick drum but no worries, it will come … eventually.
