It’s official.. Sven VT, one half of the infamous and well respected Zander VT, joins the SUOL artist roster with his stunning debut EP by the name of “Mehlspeicher”.
Sven VT has come a long way as he works for the undoubtfull most respected De:Bug Magazine and now he’s expanding his writing skills on a musical level with a 4 tracker EP which will definitely be loved by many of his collegues.
To show off his musical diversity, let’s start with “Ever Since You Came” which is a disco-ish house track with a remarkable vocal, a filtered sample and percussive drums.. and yeah sure a lot of the house tracks are based on the same ingredients but many are missing that freakin’ funk, which is crucial to SUOL’s philosophy.
The Dub mix to “Ever Since You Came” works superb as a tool. The whole groove is stripped back to the main parts.. a big warm bass and a bit of sample cutting make this dub a must play.
With track 3 mister VT starts of with a slow groover by the name of “Sunday Funk”. Don’t let the name mislead you, this one is an all week funker… a light rhodes lick and a fantastic percussive groove will make this one an early summer jam for 2011.
Last but not least we have “In Our Garden”… one for the girls. Beautiful melodies combined with a well selected sample take this one right into the “smiling zone”. Imagine dancing to this one outside on one of these famous terraces …
